Here’s a story from a dear friend …. Her reasoning for loving lingerie !! “I love lingerie, now. However, I can admit that there was a time when I didn’t want to wear it. I didn’t want to consider lingerie as the choice of seduction because I thought I wasn’t SEXY enough for it. Can you believe that ?? ROFL !! Even at a size 5 I wasn’t happy, I wanted just a little more curves and more boobs … I wasn’t satisfied with how my body looked to me when it was naked, key word “me”. After some time I learned from my husband that I was being obsessive and slightly delusional. He didn’t care what I thought and seemed to care more about what he saw which was a SEXY wife at a size 5, some curves, and the perfect boobs. Now I buy lingerie for every occasion possible. Commitment

Commitment

Such a long word and such an often misspelled word. Such a compelling word and such a word many use but not act upon. I don’t like it. But lately I’ve been compelled to try to do it. It’s not that I have “commitment issues” (hahaha) it’s jus that I like choices. Yeah, that’s all backwards.

So what is commitment ?? An agreement or pledge to do something in the future. Some synonyms are dedication, faith, faithfulness, loyalty … ughhh and the list goes on.

And to believe that I am all about loyalty and faithfulness but yet commitment is no where within my vocabulary. It seems as tho commitment stretches you to another level of faith, faithfulness, and loyalty … thus not a synonym in my book.

I’ve been compelled to commitment because I do believe it’s an ingredient for love. And yet, I do pause. I pause because without conflict, I can say “ I agree or pledge to do this or do that” .. however, what if conflict arise ?? Will I believe in my commitment ?? Will I continue with my agreement or my pledge ?? Or will I run from it ??

Knowing me, I will run … and this isn’t your normal “I will commit” .. this is your “I will commit the rest of my life to you commit” ..

While it’s been a struggle and an ongoing progress I am committed to my relationship with Adam !!

Pillow Talk

Life has been extremely busy lately. It seems like if it’s not one thing it’s another … work, chores, errands, pursuing your dreams, homework (ughhh, lol). And with me being so busy I had to take a moment to have some quiet time with my Adam … he calls it “pillow talk”. It’s not that we had any pressing issues or decisions that needed to be made … I jus needed to make time to talk. One thing I admire about Adam is his desire to communicate. He wants to know my every thought, which drives me bananas at times, but I understand.

A Love that Makes you sigh

I got this from an e-mail I once read and oh how I had to make sure I spread it. To have a love that makes you sigh. When you hold your lover in your arms after a long days work, or early in the morning, or at the moment of saying goodbye, and at that very moment you release a sigh. As if all has just been taken from you by that other person. As the e-mail expressed not only do you feel it there, but in the caress of the sunset, the kiss of the moonlight, and the gentle brush of cool air on a hot day. These are the sighs of God. In these moments you can enjoy God’s love. Close your eyes, the next time you hold your loved one, take the moment in fully, and realize who that person is to you; and tell me then, if not outwardly, you don’t sigh, as you feel that person’s love for you. It should hit you like a gentle breeze.

Contract, Criticism, and Covenant

Many people view marriage as a contract. “I’ll do this if you will do that.” With enough criticism your spouse may do what you want, but it will not be an expression of love. True love is a choice and cannot be coerced. Criticism and demands tend to drive wedges. Each of us must decide daily to love or not to love.

If we decide to love, then we need to view marriage differently. The Bible paints for us a better picture of how we are to love and commit ourselves to one another. It views marriage as a covenant, not a contract. Covenants might include such affirmations as:

I will look out for your well-being no matter how you treat me.
I view our marriage as a permanent relationship.
I will not walk out on you.
Because I love you, I will confront you when I see you doing things that I believe are harmful.
I will speak the truth in love.
When you confess wrong doing, I will forgive you and never hold it against you in the future.
I am committed to helping you accomplish God’s will for your life.
You can count on my support.

Where does one get the heart and the power to live out such a covenant? I know of only one source – God. He is a covenant keeping God and will help you keep your covenant.

Communicate … It’s a Verb

I’ve learned from the past. Not every lesson learned but I did learn one. You must communicate !! It is a MUST !! In the past, I use to “feel” certain ways and I carried those feelings with me and without expressing them verbally … because either they went against the grain or they might hurt his ego (and we can’t have that now can we, smh). So to avoid any disruption in life I would hold onto those feelings, never sharing and always compressing.

Over time; however, these feelings build up and that is a not and never a good place for a woman. Build up is usually accompanied with bitterness, anger, resentment … and now World War 3 is about to happen. And he is looking around like “What jus happened?” (and that dumb look jus pisses you off more, lol)

I have learned … in my new relationship if I am angry I say so and why, if I am happy I say so and why, if I am jealous I say so and why, if I don’t like him nibbling on my ear I say so and why … I don’t hold anything “in” !! I communicate !!

You must communicate the good and the bad. I don’t recommend hurtful or spiteful communication, be tactful (this is the love of your life, right ??) but communicate.

Love never fails but people surely do … we gotta do our part !!

Hold Me …
